Breathe Awareness.
Do you know how are you are breathing?
There is nothing more essential to our health and wellbeing than breathing: we can survive for perhaps 3 months without food. About 10 days without water. And, for virtually everyone, after 6 minutes without breath, we are dead. The feeling of not being able to breathe causes deep primal anxiety. Our first act at birth could be said to be an inhale. Unplugging.
The sirens of our screens need conscious resistance. By regulating our use of technology, we can become better balanced. I aspire (and definitely many days this does not happen) to not switch on phone/internet until 9am and to switch off by 9pm. For myself, I find it particularly helpful not to have Facebook on my phone (and I do not access other social media anyway). Creating space for our minds to wander. Some quiet times. Perhaps we could benefit from a day off walking on a forrest bath in the Appennino.
